Who walks the Mossytrailgames paths

Mossytrailgames began with a simple observation: some of the best role-playing games ever made live in a browser tab, and most of them are ignored by mainstream coverage. Text-heavy, timer-driven and often decades old, they rarely get the careful reviews they deserve.

We are a small team of players based in Britain who grew up on these games and never quite stopped. We play each one for weeks before writing about it, check what we claim against official sources and score it on four criteria that matter to people with real lives.

Our reviews are opinionated by design. We will tell you when a premium shop pushes too hard, when an interface feels dated and when a game is simply better than its looks suggest. Our job is to help you find the right game for your evenings, not to flatter anyone.

Bramble, our walking-stick-carrying guide, keeps us honest about pace: a good trail is one you enjoy walking, not one you rush. That is how we think about browser RPGs too.

01

Played for weeks, not minutes

Every review comes from sustained play on a fresh character, including the quiet days when a game’s timers and rhythm really show themselves.

02

Facts checked at the source

Classes, mechanics and device support are confirmed against official pages and reliable references. When we cannot verify a detail, we leave it out.

03

Scores that can disagree with themselves

Four separate criteria mean a game can be brilliant in one area and weak in another, and we say so plainly.
